UNION VETERANS UNION
P.O. Box 331 - Fair Oaks, Ca. 95628
WELCOME TO THE UNION VETERANS UNION ! Established in 1886, in Washington, D.C. The UVU formed "Precinct Commands" or Command Posts locally and attracted many of
the Civil War Veterans. They stayed active until around the 1920's, and slowly disolved as the members passed away.Although the Men had made provisions for a successor of 'SONS',(unlike the GAR who made No such
provision) the Order became inactive. In 1998
several descendants of Union Veterans reactivated the Association, and are incorporated as a Not-For-Profit Heritage, Patriotic and Educational veterans group.

NOW ACTIVE THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES
THE UVU, Inc. is the only Heritage Order exclusively dedicated to Honoring the Men in
Blue who had contended on the Battlefields of
the War of Rebellion, were Victorious and saved the Union! Membership in this ORDER is available to men and women who had an ancestor in the Civil War. We have several
Command Posts Commanded by women, in fact. We
also accept Associate Members. Associate
Members are those without direct or collateral lineage, but who support our Mission, Objectives and Programs.

THE UVU, INC. NATIONAL ENCAMPMENT ~ The UVU meets annually in a National Encampment to elect National Officers including the Commander-In-Chief. Additionally, the membership has an opportunity to vote on various Programs, changes in by-laws and hear
about community activities carried out by local COMMAND POSTS. In 2001 the National En-
campment was held in St. Augustine, Fl. and in 2002, we assembled in Washington, DC. and
in Chicago in 2003.
OPPORTUNITIES FOR COMMAND POST ORGANIZERS AND LEADERS AVAILABLE DUE TO OUR RAPID GROWTH
AND SUCCESSFUL RECRUITMENT PROGRAM
We are always looking for men and women who are willing to accept leadership roles in our
local Command Posts. We also seek members who
are willing to Organize Precinct Command Posts with our National Leaders assistance.
Opportunities for active members to hold
office in Posts, Division Commands and on the
National Level are limitless. As we grow in
members, we will be adding several National
positions, both elected and appointed. If this Order appeals to you once you review our
mission statement and objectives, we urge you
to be a part of activities, programs and
growth. Your talents are needed and you will
be part of a proud group who stands shoulder
to shoulder against those who would diminish
the heroism, sacrifices and victory accomplished by the UNION Servicemen. The UVU stands up against those, who, to further their own agendas, distort the truth about our Civil War history and Union leaders, and
carry these lies to our youth in classroom settings. Others have placed displays in
Museums who have done the very same things.
" UNITED WE STAND ~ DIVIDED WE FALL"
This was the "adopted" slogan of the early UNION VETERANS UNION and we have taken up the
same standard. Never before in our History, since the Civil War, has it meant more. In
nearly every NEWSLETTER it seems we spread a warning about some who would attempt to divide us and weaken our Patriotic Resolve. The membership badges are designed to bear this reminder. and stand up to those who would disrespect our Glorious Flag or our fellow citizens. With this standard in mind, we adopted our membership requirements and qualifications. Take time to browse our Website and determine if you meet the criteria. Although we have attempted to answer the most common questions that we are asked, we may have failed to answer a particular query you have. In that case, please feel free to e-mail the appropriate
National leader. Thank you for your interest!
